If you’ve been reading the newspapers and reports from around the world, you will know that there are currently rice and other food shortages in Asia that are driving up the prices of food there.  You will also have learned that there are food shortages due to appear in the United States, the breadbasket of the world, in 2011 and 2012. It seems that government mandates and meddling have conspired to create record-low crop yields in California and the midwest.

I have noticed that food prices – especially prices of rice, vegetables and fruit have risen dramatically in the past six months. Food still seems to be available but not in sufficient quantity to keep prices at reasonable levels.  Food shortages will continue to increase food prices in the United States and around the world over the next two years or more and for that reason I am including new solutions to these growing problems.

The first and best solution overall is to grow your own food in your own garden or find open pollinated seeds.  These are seeds that will grow food that also produces seed so you can continue planting and harvesting the food you grow. This will make you independent. Ahhh! but try to find these kinds of seeds and you’ll run into all kinds of problems.

The fact is, these seeds are extremely hard to find and when you do find a source, they may not be what you are looking for or may not grow the way you need them to.

Additionally, they may spoil or harden when you store them for longer periods of time.  I have found only one source of good open-pollinated seeds.

It’s an excellent source of these garden seeds and they come from fiercely independent professional farmers who understand that having these types of seeds may one day save your life.

These are not genetically modified seeds . I’ve added this ‘seed bank’ source to my top wellness products website and encourage anyone preparing for emergencies and crises in our country to buy these ‘seed banks’ while they are still available. It isn’t possible to just create these kinds of seeds. They take time to produce.

I hope you read the article below on how more and more Americans are being poisoned by dangerous or addictive prescription medications. It seems to me that we Americans are dividing ourselves into those who prefer to try more natural remedies and lifestyle changes to maintain our health or reduce aches and pains and those who prefer to trust in Big Pharma solutions to health that play with our body chemistry.  It seems that powerful painkillers would be given only to those with severe chronic pains in their very last days of unbearable illness – not to those with emotional problems leading to manifestations of physical pain or to those with severe withdrawal symptoms after abusing their bodies with drugs and alcohol.
