How would you like to add another hundred years to your life? Do you see life extension as just a distant possibility? The fact is that life extension will be coming to your neighborhood within 10 years.  Yes, only ten years. Check out this Good Morning America Video with Diane Sawyer and Dr. Oz:

Each of the items mentioned in the video above has tremendous potential for life extension.  Frequent fasting or cutting our caloric intake by 15-30% by itself has been proven to extend lives in laboratory mice and other laboratory mammals. There is also the vast amount of anecdotal evidence from those who have lived on restricted calorie diets for years and who find themselves in excellent health.

Then there are Resveratrol supplements that stimulate the production of  Sirtuin and could add an additional thirty years to the normal human lifespan.

The new types of controlled stem-cell human organ regeneration techniques demonstrated in the video are eye-opening at the very least. Dr Oz believes these organ regeneration techniques will be much more refined and available to us all within 10 years!  It is clear that a lot more has been going on in life-extension than most of us realize.

Then there is Cellfood DNA/RNA sold by Nutronix International that you can spray into your mouth (it doesn’t have a good taste) three or four times to regenerate and flood your body cells with oxygen and their proprietary formula. Testing with small laboratory mammals has demonstrated a tripling of healthful lifespan and a reversal of aging-signs in those mammals with signs of aging.

Are we on the cusp of human immortality?  I don’t think so. We are however, closer than ever to being able to increase the number of years our bodies can survive.  This in itself, however raises questions we may not be prepared to answer.  Primarily, what would you do with an extra 100 years of life?  Could the earth support and feed a doubling of population from six billion people to twelve billion people?  Currently, population growth is seen as a major obstacle to each person on the earth reaching his or her full potential and fully enjoying what the earth offers.

Natural resources are in finite supply on Earth. It is widely acknowledged that not everyone can have an equal share of those finite resources. The earth itself may soon pare the population of humans on it to a more manageable number in the coming years as humans continue to foolishly build cities and major infrastructures on unstable geological formations.

Additionally, water resources and food resources would need to double to handle  the needs of such a huge population.  Perhaps expensive desalination of salty ocean waters is the answer to our water problems. It works in places like Saudi Arabia but seems much too expensive for most countries in the world today.

Food resources too, would need to double and a fair distribution system would need to be developed.

Are we ready for life-extension?  If it actually became commonplace for people to live beyond 150 years old, would social security benefits in the USA  be delayed until we reach 120 years old?  Are we even ready to contemplate answers to such questions?

The reality is that life extension is possible and is upon us. For those who can afford it, living 200 years and beyond will be within certain reach 15 years from today.

It seems it’s time to begin thinking about healthful life extension possibilities without expensive life-support equipment.
