Happy New Year! 2009 is behind us. What a year it was! For those paying attention to health issues, pharmaceutical revelations, the H1N1 flu pandemic and natural remedies brought to you by this blog and others, there was hardly a dull month in 2009.

One thing is certain: Good reliable information about health issues are more often brought to the public’s attention through blogs like this one rather than by mainstream media outlets who seem to have dropped the ball and/or acquiesced to the flood of paper propaganda released by the FDA, and big pharmacueticals with a vested financial interest in maintaining the status quo or covering up problems.

I suppose it’s a matter of perceived authority. Who should mainstreamers believe? Established authorities like the FDA,CDC and large pharmaceuticals like Merck or Roche? or individual researchers, watchdog groups and anecdotal story-tellers? In 2009 , media’s choice has been clear.

The currently unsigned and uncompromised health care plan so ballyhooed in Congress will accomplish very little in rectifying the problems in our healthcare system and will instead validate and institutionalize rotten health care insurance providers and the dangerous and over-priced medications coming out of the labs of Big Pharma.

Good natural remedies seem to have been left out of everyone’s considerations and debates. Below you will find a great list of the biggest news events and discoveries in the health field in 2009.
