Is there a real difference between using colloidal silver, ionic silver salts and pure metallic silver (also called the New Silver Sol)? The answer is a big ‘yes’ and what you read below will explain the differences between them. I’ve written extensively on my website page on the 14-ppm New Silver Solution that is manufactured by American Biotech Labs and distributed only by licensed Nutronix International distributors.

People often email me asking about the 10-ppm ASAP Silver that American Biotech Labs also manufactures, and that is sold by various licensees. ABL also allows only physicians to sell 32-ppm ASAP Silver through special license.
The difference between these silver products from ABL is not in the way they are manufactured and not in the purity of the silver used in the process and certainly not in the patented manufacturing process of creating the tiny metallic silver nano-particles that are suspended in pure water.
Instead, all products go through essentially the same patented process. The difference is in the number of pure metallic silver nano- particles or ’sols’ each product contains per million parts of water. This is called PPM (parts per million). Most research testing over the past 10 years has been conducted with the 10-ppm silver sol product. It’s the weakest (if you will) of the three mentioned above. All work well and effectively.
The higher concentrations of silver sols in the Nutronix 14-ppm silver product and the 32-ppm product that only licensed physicians are permitted to sell are a little stronger in their effectiveness.
What has often been ignored are the FAQS about the New Silver Sol. These are the most common questions about the product from the public and are an interesting read.

Q. What is the Shelf life?
A. Fifteen years in a cool dark place.
Q. Are colloidal silver generators a good idea?
A. Nearly all of the cases of argyria have been associated or caused by home silver generators. This is not to say that all home silver generators are bad or will cause argyria . Consider however that facts which are you cannot make a better silver then SilverSol in your basement. Your quality of homemade colloidal silver depends entirely on how one seller of silver generators put it “how well you can follow instructions”. This seems like a bit of a contradiction from all the claims on the site. Notice how almost none of these companies have done studies or tests on their actual product rather then just saying silver does this silver does that. Ask them for Safety reports on their silver.But that would be impossible because YOU are making your own silver. Possibly making home generators a legal liability. SilverSol has four different independent human studies completed, including one involving 124 patients from a number of hospitals and clinics in West Africa. SilverSol has seven independent safety studies, NIH lab testing, hundreds of studies, test series, testing at over one hundred sixty Governmental University facilitates, Congressionally subpoenaed, FDA approved SilverSol Gel, and three different EPA approvals. We could waste our time trying to identify all the other silver companies and then prove that we are better than each and every one of them, but why do this? It seems to us that our time and money is better spent working on solving problems, finding new answers, and creating new products with our technology so that we can end more human suffering. Because we have human case studies that have been completed using our products, we know about how much of our product is needed, to be used at what time intervals, in order to boost the human immune system to solve certain problems. We will continue to work with international labs, joint venture partners, and government groups, etc. to increase that knowledge so that we can help more people worldwide.
Q. Is SilverSol Ionic , Colloidal, or Metallic?
A. Metallic, another site that claimed to be an independent one had comparisons of many different products, and stated that our product was actually not metallic but something like 80% ionic. With a little more investigation we found that the site was not an independent one as it purported to be, but rather a misleading site to promote its company’s own product.

Because of misrepresentations made by technology-inhibited competitors of American Biotech Labs, the question is best answered by independent and technologically superior labs and institutions.
Included in a peer-review paper, cited from Pennsylvania State University, was test work jointly accomplished at six different state-of-the-art labs, including labs at Penn State University (the number-one-ranked material science lab in the world), Arizona State University, University of Puerto Rico, and three other scientific institutions.
Jointly they studied three products made by American Biotech Labs Silver Sol (10 ppm, 22ppm, 32ppm), and made nine conclusions to end the peer-review paper (two of nine conclusions made are cited here to answer these direct questions and are quoted verbatim from the paper).
“The very potent biologically active silver aquasols contained, typically, the amounts of silver claimed by the manufacturer, typically from 10-30 ppm by weight of Ag. The silver was very pure as was the water.”
“The dominant, by far, crystalline solid phase detected in the vast majority of SEM TEM studies is metallic silver.”
In other words, the studies found that the products made by American Biotech Labs were very pure and clean, contained the correct amounts of silver, and were made up of metallic silver particles.

We believe that small-time companies will continue to take shots at Silver Sol Technology because when your product stands out alone at the top of the heap, there will always be wishful people taking shots at you in an attempt to try and make themselves look better.
Q. Which is more effective and safe, metallic silver or ionic silver?
A. Many claims are made about the effectiveness of metallic vs ionic silver products, each side claiming their type of silver product to be the most effective.
In a study at Brigham Young University, a professor found that most of the silver products purchased and tested from the public market, claimed to be metallic silver products, but were actually just ionic or chemical forms of silver.
Most ionic forms of silver are very easy to make. Usually a chemical form of silver (ie. Silver Nitrate) is taken and diluted down to a certain ppm level, and then a protein is added to the silver because most ionic forms of silver are not stable.
The added protein helps to keep the silver from falling out of suspension. Ionic or chemical forms of silver tend to kill bacteria one or two minutes faster than metallic particles in test tube studies, but are much less effective in human studies.
They are less effective because once inside the body, ionic silver takes electrons from other cells and are thus are quickly neutralized in their first pass through the liver.
In other words, the effectiveness of ionic silver is very short term. True metallic nano-particles are not neutralized in the first pass through the liver, but continue to function until they are ultimately washed through the system, which is estimated to take two days.
New independent peer-review reports from leading universities have started to shed light on the differences of metallic vs ionic forms of silver. A new peer-review report from Pennsylvania State University was just released after years of studying a number of colloidal silver and silver aquasol products purchased from the U.S. market.
The paper was authored by Professor Rustum Roy, along with seven other professors and scientists. The report is titled, “Ultradilute Ag-Aquasols with extraordinary bactericidal properties: the role of the system Ag-O-H2O.” On the subject of ionic vs metallic silver for human use, the report states (page 2, fourth paragraph): “In spite of this enormous range of data, it is extraordinary that no major effort has been made to confirm and expand on the role of metallic silver in human health–especially in light of its huge advantage in lack of side effects. (Ingestion of excessive amounts of ionic (soluble) silver , not metallic solid particles is reported to have resulted in a very rare condition labeled argyria, an (irreversible?) darkening of the skin. No one has died of this condition. The safety of metallic silver sols is firmly established by the data cited above.)”
Q. What are the recommended doses for Liquid?
A. For Prevention against flu virus, swallow one teaspoon 1-3 times a day. Post Infection Immune Support Two teaspoons twice a day.

Q. Does The New Silver Solution harm the helpful bacteria in our intestines?
A. This is an important question because often antibiotics do wipe out friendly bacteria that inhabit our large intestines. These bacteria not only produce B vitamins and folic acid for you, but they compete with pathogenic bacteria, yeasts, and prevent them from multiplying which cause infection. Antibiotics, especially broad-spectrum antibiotics, kill a wide range of these friendly bacteria. this leaves you vulnerable to super infections.
In addition, antibiotics may suppress our immune systems! The New Silver Solution does not present such a problem. Independent studies both at Brigham Young University and Viridi Biopharma have effectively shown this.
The very fact that so many individuals have taken The New Silver Solution for so long and have reported no negative gastrointestinal side affects strongly suggests that this solution does not cause these friendly flora harm in any way that would injure our bodies. In vitro testing of the silver on a number of friendly fauna, such aslactobacillus, have shown that the silver does not kill these helpful, probiotic bacteria.
Q. Is this safe for children to take?
A. Yes, a great deal of misinformation has been released from the media claiming that nano-silver products have not been tested for safety, and that it is unknown what effects the products may have on people or the environment.
It has also been stated that these silver products can cause heavy-metal poisoning. Little, if any, of this attack on nano-silver has validity, and more importantly it is the work of people or special interest groups that have something else to gain by limiting an individual’s free right to have and use safe silver products. American Biotech Labs has spent millions of dollars on testing the safety and efficacy of nano-silver technology products.
Numerous ingested toxicity studies have been completed on American Biotech Labs’ nano-silver products. Some of the studies are outlined below.
Independent LD-50 tests on animals at levels equivalent to approximately 200 times the normal internal use adult dosage were found to be non-toxic to the animals. A 28-day bird flu study completed by a U.S. NIH virology lab also included a toxicity study in which the animals were fed levels of the nano-silver at 10-200 times the normal dosage daily.
The Silver Sol nano-silver products were found to be non-toxic to the animals in the long term study. A separate medical college study tested the ingestion of American Biotech Labs’ nano-silver product in animals at levels of 0.5 ml, 1.0 ml, and 1.5 ml daily for 28 days, and again found the product completely non-toxic to the animals.
An Indian (WHO approved) lab tested the Silver Sol nano-silver products for toxicity in a mouse-model study at levels of 50, 500, 5,000 mg/kg. The product was again found to be completely non-toxic to the animals at all levels tested in the Indian study.
A peer-reviewed preliminary HIV Human study found that the oral ingestion of 2 ounces daily for four months of the 10 ppm Silver Sol nano-silver product, had no negative effect on the seven human patients.
A U.S. Congressional Testimony outlines the use of the Silver Sol nano-silver product at between 0.5-1.0 ounce daily use at 10 ppm, for human use of the product against malaria and other human ailments (120+ cases).
In all cases, no negative effects were reported from any of the four hospitals and clinics that tested the product, by either external or internal use (mostly internal use).
Two injected mouse model studies have been completed testing the Silver Sol nano-silver products at a level of 50 mg/kg, at both 10 and 32 ppm levels. Both studies found the products to be completely non-toxic to the test animals.
Q. Will It Harm Human Cells? (Nano-Silver Tested For Cyto-toxicity)
A number of independent cyto-toxicity tests have been completed on American Biotech Labs’ nano-silver products. At both 10 and 22 ppm, the products were found to do no damage at all to either human or monkey cells, meaning that they were found completely non-cyto-toxic.
Silver Sol nano-silver gel products were tested for cyto-toxicity at both 24 and 32 ppm by an independent FDA/EPA approved lab. According to FDA guidelines, the cyto-toxicity is reported on a scale of 1-4 (4 being highly cyto-toxic and 1 being very safe for use).
Both the 24 and 32ppm Silver Sol nano-silver products were deemed in the testing to be a level 1, in other words having little or no negative effect on the skin.
